GENERAL INFO:
Bantry Terminals Limited (BTL), operate the Whiddy Island oil terminal. The terminal is located in Bantry bay, Southwest Ireland. The terminal consists of an offshore single point mooring (SBM), ( SCH) Tanker Jetty, and an onshore tank farm.
All vessels operating at Bantry Terminls should inform themselves with the contents of "The Port Information Book" designed by Bantry Terminals Ltd. The book states the terms and conditions under which tankers will operate within the port in general and specifically with regards to the transfer of petroleum and ballast at the SCH Jetty and contains information pertaining to BTL requirements, available services and operational procedures at the terminal
All vessels operating at the SPM and SCH Jetty facility are required to comply with these requirements, procedures, terms and conditions.
POLLUTION
It is the ship Master's responsibility to ensure that no oil or oily water is pumped or spilled overboard from his vessel in the vicinity of Bantry Bay. In the event of any spillage or loss of oil from your vessel as the result of any act or omission of the vessel such as, but not limited to, pumping of oily water overside from any onboard source, the vessel shall be responsible for all costs and expenses of cleanup, and for any damages to property or injury to persons resulting from such spillage or oil loss. Bantry Bay Harbour Commissioners, Cork County Council, and Bantry Terminals Ltd., reserve the right to take all reasonable measures to cleanup any resulting pollution or contamination on land or sea, but only as a contractor acting on behalf of your vessel and her Owner, and will charge the vessel for all costs and expenses incurred thereby.
MASTER'S RESPONSIBILITY
The Master of the vessel shall remain solely responsible for the safety and proper operation of the vessel at all times. Neither the Pilot, Mooring Master, Harbour Master nor the agents, officials nor personnel of the Cork County Council, Bantry Bay Harbour Commissioners, nor Bantry Terminals Ltd., shall be responsible for any loss or damage arising in consequence of any assistance instruction or advice given or tendered in respect of the vessel.
MOORING MASTER
The Mooring Master is supplied by Bantry Terminals Ltd. on the condition that, when boarding or assisting in the vessel, he becomes the agent and servant of the Owners and/or Charters of the vessel in every respect. Bantry Terminals Ltd. shall not be responsible for, and shall be held harmless by the Owners and/or Charters of the vessel, from all liability for any damages resulting from or caused by any action taken, order given, or decision made (or any omission thereof) by the Mooring Master or in respect to his handling of the mooring or cargo discharge operations.
