Bantry Bay is located in the Southwest coast of Ireland and has had a considerable history in the shipping industry.
At present Shipping in the Bay centres around two cargoes, namely, STONE and OIL and Ship-Man. represents:

in both of these activities. Ship-Man. Ltd. was founded in 1992, and represents circa 160 ships per annum. The company is the sole agent at the Tarmac Fleming quarry in Bantry Bay, dealing with approx. 130 ships annually. Vessels loading at the quarry include large self UN-loaders:
The Oil Terminal at Whiddy Island was reactivated by “Bantry Terminals Ltd” in 1998 and Ship-Man. represented the first Tanker to moor onto the SPM
Ship-Man. has also continued a working relationship with coaster tankers using the Terminal’s small berth (The Small Craft Harbour), which is located in the South West corner of Whiddy Island.
Ship-Man. was also the first company to bring a vessel onto the SCH at Whiddy Isl. to re-fuel Bunkers Imports and exports of machinery and specialist equipment have also been managed by Ship-Man.
Bantry Bay has a long history of being a Port of refuge for vessels caught in bad weather; or vessels in distress due to crew or ship difficulties; and Ship- Man. has proven to be a reliable contact for Masters , Owners and Cargo Owners. Ship-Mans.”crew” trace their history in shipping back to 1969 and the experience and expertise built-up over those years is brought to bear in the service of all its clients today.
Ship-Man. is a member of the Irish Ship Agents’ Association and without question is the most active and most experienced agency in Bantry Bay.
